Meet Audrey the Therapy Dog

Meet Audrey

Meet Audrey, our delightful resident therapy dog, who is ready to bring warmth and joy to your sessions. With her irresistibly fluffy coat, soulful brown eyes, and charming floppy ears, Audrey is sure to win your heart the moment you meet her.

Audrey has a natural love for people and thrives on connecting with clients. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and she’s always keen to be involved—though sometimes she may need a gentle reminder to mind her manners and not jump up during greetings!

Her curious nature often shines through, and she’s developed quite the reputation for sniffing out hidden treats—sometimes I wonder if she missed her calling as an airport sniffer dog!

Audrey adores attention and will happily engage and even sit beside you if invited. After making everyone feel welcome, she enjoys curling up on the couch or in her bed, quietly resting until it’s her time to shine. She is specially trained and eager to engage in therapeutic activities with you.

Of course, nothing excites Audrey more than a good tummy rub—her absolute favourite treat. When it’s time to say goodbye, don’t be surprised if she stretches out near your feet or across the doorway, ready for her signature tummy rub farewell.

Audrey can’t wait to be part of your therapy journey, adding a special touch of comfort and companionship to your experience.

Animal Assisted Therapy

Animal Assisted Therapy involves animals working with humans to support therapeutic activities. In our sessions, Audrey provides Animal Assisted Service by joining me to help guide your healing process. Studies show that having animals like dogs present during counselling can lower stress hormones and calm breathing and heart rate. Audrey’s presence alone has this effect, but together, we also offer targeted therapeutic activities to further enhance your experience.

Audrey is a Cavoodle with a hypoallergenic coat that reduces allergy risk. Please let us know if you have dog allergies, phobias, or prefer Audrey not attend your sessions. If you are interested in animal assisted therapy, let us know so we can include Audrey in your therapeutic plan.

“Dogs give love—unconditional love. They ask for attention, and when someone responds, they give love, security, and warmth in return, with no strings attached.”

— Dr. Anthony Calabro
